- Salesforce cost cut
A Commerce Cloud team brought in house for a 20%+ cost saving.
A company running Salesforce B2B Commerce was paying more and more to an implementation vendor. TekRecruiter’s Managing Director planned an in-house Salesforce team, cutting cost by more than 20%, and within three months we hired a Salesforce architect, two senior developers and an administrator on six-month contract-to-hire.
Less vendor dependence, more control.
The challenge
The client sells to business customers and uses Salesforce B2B Commerce as its e-commerce platform. It wanted online self-service, rapid reordering, customer-specific pricing and flexible ordering options, plus deeper integration with its financial systems. Meanwhile, its cost and dependence on its Salesforce implementation vendor had grown significantly.
What we did
Our Managing Director sat down with the client’s technology leaders to learn the depth of their Salesforce footprint, then proposed bringing Salesforce development and administration in house. The plan was specific: how many internal people were needed, at what experience levels, the salary budget and the hiring timeline.
The result
The plan cut the client’s Salesforce cost by more than 20%. Within three months we hired the team it called for: one Salesforce architect, two senior Salesforce developers and one Salesforce administrator, each on a six-month contract-to-hire.

About this engagement.
How did TekRecruiter reduce the client’s Salesforce cost?
By replacing dependence on an implementation vendor with an internal team. Our Managing Director planned the headcount, experience levels, salary budget and timeline, and the plan cut Salesforce cost by more than 20%.
Which roles were hired?
One Salesforce architect, two senior Salesforce developers and one Salesforce administrator.
How long did it take to build the team?
Three months to hire all four, each on a six-month contract-to-hire.
Why contract-to-hire instead of direct hire?
Contract-to-hire let the client work with each person before converting them to its payroll. 98% of TekRecruiter’s contract-to-hire consultants convert. See contract-to-hire.
When does bringing Salesforce in house make sense?
Usually when the org is central to the business and vendor cost keeps rising, as it did here with a B2B Commerce build that also needed financial-system integration. See Salesforce recruiting.
